A card using a sketch...

Good morning, well, do you have any snow this morning? We had a nice sprinkling, but as it's still quite cold it is hanging around a while.

Doing the school run this morning was beautiful, with the low sun and the frost and snow, and of course the Cotswolds!! Just gorgeous, and I do appreciate the views of Painswick and the River Severn area. I hope you have had some lovely views of the snow too.

So onto cards...I had a play with a sketch from blog last night. Sketch Saturday is a blog I have found and although challenging sketch (for me anyway!!!) I gave it a go with my new Dear Doily stamp set.

I turned the sketch on it's side, as I preferred that orientation.

The colours I used were Granite Grey, Tranquil Tide and Pool Party.

I think it's pretty straightforward to see what I did with the card stock layering and some simple stamping. The back piece of Pool Party I stamped on using Pool Party ink, giving the more subtle look, almost a watermark. You can get this effect using Versamark ink too.

On the inside I added some stamped doilies in the two colours Pool Party and Tranquil Tide.

I did love the small doily I cut out using the coordinating framelits, these are so beautiful, and I added some Pool Party sequins. These are on the clearance rack at the moment; 5 colours, 50 of each for £2.50 (145609)

I am sure you could pop over and see the sketch yourself and maybe even give it a go, it is a great way to kick start some creativity.

Thank you for stopping by today and see you again soon I hope.
