Good evening, I hope your Sunday and weekend generally is going nicely?
I have spent a couple of hours getting some cards ready for my class at Hobbycraft on Friday, which I will be sharing very soon, but today OI thought I would share a card I made that inspired the class we had last week at card class.
I saw a card by a demonstrator called Carol Lovenstein and just loved the 5 colours of gingham as the background and then matching them in to the cake stack. It was lovely and had to case it. And this is my version you can see here...very similar, but slightly different!
The gingham papers are Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.
So we made this at card class last week and it is also what inspired the further two cards we made...
This card uses the same colours and layout principles but I used the lovely new stamp set Incredible Like You. I loved the little detail we put inside to repeat the front of the card...
I also loved how the inspiration came from the first card, which ultimately led to the final card we made...
This uses the same colours and layout basis again but the new sale-a-bration papers and matching butterflies!
Using blender pends and the same five colours we coloured each panel of designer papers with a different colour; Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.
The added butterflies are lovely and easy to create lots of them with the stamps and punch in the Spring/Summer catalogue.
A few more little extra butterflies inside help finish it off.
So there we go, I loved the first card and it's a great way to create more cards using a similar layout or colour scheme.
If you fancy joining us next month at card class the date is February 14th (!!!Valentine/love/wedding/anniversary theme??!!) just drop me a message and I can give you full details. All other classes are detailed if you go the classes tab at the top of this blog.
Thank you for visiting today and I hope you visit again soon.
