Product feature...ink pads...

A little later in the day here but I have another product feature today. I thought I would give you some basic information about ink pads that are available.

There are lots of inks out there on the ,market, so it can be difficult to know which one to buy or use on any particular project. But I thought I would give you some initial details about the ones that I generally use from Stampin' Up!

Of course the main thing to remember when using any ink is just how messy it can potentially be! You may get it on your hands, clothing, work area or even on your project but not where you want it!!!! I am sure you can all relate to that one, I know I certainly can!!

Keeping your space organised can help but as that is no fun, I would recommend having something like baby wipes to hand when ever stamping!!

So I use one of four ink pads, Staz-on, Memento ink and Classic Stamp pads and then there is Versamark

StazOn

This ink is permanent. As well as being able to stamp on paper/card, it is the type of ink you can stamp onto nonporous surfaces, such as glass and acetate, or glossy papers etc It is an acid free ink, and is archival and fast drying, which is great for the smooth/slick surface use. It is the best ink for stamping an image to watercolour. They have re-fills available. Cleaning your stamps after use with this will need SatzOn remover.

Memento Ink

This is a water based dye ink, which is fast drying. This is the ink I use all the time for pretty much everything! It can be used on most paper surfaces but because they are not waterproof it won't work for watercoloring or pens that are water based, as it will all bleed together, coloured pencils are fine though. This ink is acid free. There is a reindeer available for this ink. A good general stamp cleaner will be required for this ink on your stamps.

Classic Stampin' Pads

These are Stampin' Up!'s coloured ink pads. They are dye based ink pads and are fast drying and acid free. They can be used on most paper surfaces, but they can bleed on some paper. These have refills available. To clean your stamps you will need a good general stamp cleaner.

Versamark ink

This is another ink pad available that I use for one of two purposes, to create a tone on tone watermark effect. It can be used on any colour card to create that look. But it is also the slow drying ink that you use for embossing. It dries slowly and is clear so is perfect for this job. There are refills for these ink pads too and a general stamp cleaner will do a good job!

I hope these basic details will be of use to you. I am no expert in this but I know a few basic details which I have shared here today.

Thank you for stopping by and if you have any further questions please feel free to ask or leave a comment at the bottom to let me have your feedback, good or bad!!

Thank you and I hope you visit again soon.
