Product feature...adhesives

Well on a Sunday from time to time I am going to try and give you some helpful information regarding crafting products. To make that easier to understand I will start today with talking about adhesives/glues.

Now as crafters we use them all the time and all different types, but some of you may have had problems getting something to stick and stay stuck!!! Hopefully this information today will help.

As I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I thought I would start with their adhesive selection and advise, but there are obviously other brands but they are generally all the some types of glue.

Snail adhesive - this is a double sided permanent adhesive, and it bonds instantly. It comes with re-fill option and is acid free, so is great for scrapbooking. I use this for lots of sticking of layers of cardstock and papers. So quick and easy. Not really strong enough for heavier embellishments.

Tear and tape - this is a really strong double sided tape, with the added bonus of being tearable, so no scissors!!! Great for boxes and 3-d projects. The is also acid free.

Foam adhesive strips - this is dimensional double sided foam which is perfect for shaker cards and spinner cards.

Multipurpose adhesive sheets - these are sheets of double sided sticky sheets, great for using with the Big Shot when cutting out detailed shapes.

Stampin Dimensional (foam sticky pads) - these are double sided foam pads. They stick instantly and add dimension to our projects. They are also acid free. They come in all variety of sizes, Stampin Up have two sizes.

Glue dots - small dots of glue. In Stampin Up words 'no fumes, no mess, no drying time.' They are really great for slightly heavier embellishments and I love them for holding ribbon in place...especially the bows that won't go where they re supposed too 😀😀

Multipurpose liquid glue - this will stock all sorts, glitter, and other embellishments. This one from Stampin Up! has a fine tip and broad tip applicator. Not quite so great for ribbons ad fabric as it remains sticky! This dries clear. Wet glue is always god for giving you that wiggle room!!! It doesn't stick immediately so you have a few seconds to 'wiggle' your payers to get them straight!

Fine tip glue pen - this is a wet glue with a fine tip applicator, great for glitters and delicate papers and cut-outs. This particular one has a pin in the lid to prevent drying out. This dries clear.

This is a copy of a summary from Stampin Up! which may help in having a quick reference point. This is in the catalogue on page 213, which if you need a copy of, I will be happy to put one in the post for you.

I hope you find that helpful and if you have any other questions then please just get in touch.

Thank you for popping by today and see you again soon.
